Eden Network Announces Strategic Transition of its MEV-Boost Relay Operations to Gattaca

Eden Network is handing over the operation of its MEV-Boost relay, previously Eden Relay, to Gattaca. This decision aligns with Eden's new business direction while ensuring continued support for the validator community by leveraging Gattaca's experience as an operator of the Titan Relay.

Titan Relay is a Rust based MEV-Boost relay, powered by Helix, and supports optimistic V2 with demonstrated latency improvements, and global coverage with clusters in Frankfurt, North Virginia, Singapore and Tokyo, providing better support for underserved regions.

Eden Relay is one of Ethereum's most reputable relays, and is connected to more than 89% of validators. Gattaca will gradually transition connected validators to Titan Relay to ensure minimal disruption (see detailed step-by-step guide below).

Looking forward, Eden will continue to support Flashbots' SUAVE while also researching the intersection of crypto and AI.

Gattaca's stewardship of the relay underscores their support for the Eden community. The transition includes a consideration that Eden will put towards investing in its native token, $EDEN, highlighting a collaborative commitment to the project's future.

What does this mean for node operators?

  • From September 4th, relay.edennetwork.io will redirect to Titan relay backend infrastructure
  • Validators registered with Eden but not with Titan will receive a 204 response code for all get_header requests (not serving headers)
  • After October 30th, get_header requests will start serving valid block bids
  • Node operators have until October 30th to disconnect from Eden relay if they do not wish to use the new backend
  • Individual communications will be sent out to registered NOs. If you have not received an email from Gattaca/Eden by September 4th, please reach out to titanrelay@gattaca.com
  • Node operators that do not wish to connect to Titan Relay will have ample time to disconnect before the transition is completed
  • Although no immediate action is required for NOs that want to use the Titan relay backend infrastructure, we encourage NOs to register with Titan Relay
